What the next prize looks like

Because no one hit the jackpot Monday, the annuity estimate for the Wednesday, August 12, 2026 drawing rises to about $929 million, with an estimated lump-sum cash value of roughly $402.4 million before taxes.

Winners who claim the top prize may choose:

• Annuity: 30 graduated annual payments over 29 years, with each payment 5% larger than the last.
• Cash option: A one-time lump sum based on the prize pool’s invested value at the time of the claim.

Federal and state taxes apply to either option. Actual take-home amounts are substantially lower than headline jackpot figures.

Odds and smaller prizes

The odds of matching all five white balls plus the Powerball are 1 in 292.2 million. The overall odds of winning any Powerball prize on a single $2 play are about 1 in 24.9.

Even without a jackpot winner, Monday’s drawing paid out across lower prize tiers — including hundreds of thousands of tickets worth $4 or more, according to official results posted by Powerball.
